The most powerful weapon against Coronavirus.

Updated: Mar 14, 2020

‘Oh, come on, Casey. You have to admire its simplicity. It's one billionth our size and it's beating us.’

The famous quote from the movie Outbreak.

Is there any better time than right now to understand the truth behind this statement?

Coronavirus has brought almost half of the world to a halt. From movie theater to schools- everything is shut down!

How can such a tiny organism take over the world so swiftly and quietly?

How can it bring down the financial market by billions of dollars?

How can it confine thousands of people inside four walls?

Isn’t it a very big blow to our pride?

It does not matter how wealthy, successful, advanced or powerful we become- we are still very vulnerable to these tiny bugs one billionth of our size !!

Why are we so vulnerable? What is the most powerful weapon against the pandemic?

You may say vaccines, preventive measures, etc.

Yes, they are helpful to some extent but we are forgetting that the most important weapon is our inner strength- our innate immunity, our resilience, our compassion.

Our unhealthy lifestyle has given rise to so many chronic medical conditions and has also weakened our immune system to a great extent.

The futile hustle and bustle of our daily life have exhausted our inner resilience- our mental toughness to handle any disaster with confidence, calmness, and rational approach.

The panic at grocery stores shows how insecure we feel.

Irrational fear fueled by social media has disconnected us from our deep-rooted compassion.

This is a wake-up call for all of us.

Corona has given us the opportunity to withdraw from the outer world and to peek inside our inner world.

Let us do some soul searching. Let us dive deep in our quiet solitude!

What really matters for our survival?

The unending race for constant comfort, insincere validations, and transient pleasures from the outer world or quest for real strength and power from within?

Nothing will make us more equipped to face this challenge than a healthy body, a resilient mind, and a tender heart!
